St. George's Parish, Komenda Holds Mid-Year Recollection for Advisory Board Members, Catechists, and Societal Leaders

St. George's Catholic Parish, Komenda, has organized its Mid-Year Recollection for Advisory Board members, Catechists, and leaders of the various societies within the parish to deepen their spiritual lives and strengthen their commitment to the mission of the Church.

The recollection was held under the theme: "The Economy of Synodality: The Joy of the Church." The gathering offered participants an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and renewal as they continue their pastoral responsibilities within the parish.

Delivering the main reflection, Rev. Fr. Joseph Kenyarko expounded on the spirituality of Synodality, emphasizing its three essential pillars: Communion, Participation, and Mission, as articulated by the late Pope Francis. He reminded participants that through Baptism, every Christian is called to participate actively in the life and mission of the Church.

"Our baptism is a call to mission," he noted. "As members of the Church, we are invited to journey together, work together, and contribute to building a vibrant Christian community."

Reflecting on the economy of the Church, Fr. Kenyarko explained that the Church's true wealth is not measured by material possessions but by the positive transformation its members bring to society through faithful service.

He encouraged participants to cultivate an "economy of the Church" founded on humanity, compassion, unity, peace, generosity, and prayer, stressing that these values strengthen both the Church and the wider community.

Speaking on the Joy of the Church, Fr. Kenyarko challenged Church leaders to avoid attitudes that weaken Christian witness, including judgmental behavior, indifference, pride, and self-centeredness. Instead, he urged them to embrace humility, mutual respect, and genuine concern for one another.

The recollection also highlighted the ongoing call of the Synod on Synodality, which invites all members of the Church to become more involved in its mission by listening, participating, discerning together, and walking as one people of God.

The programme concluded with prayers and renewed commitment from participants to continue serving the Church with dedication, unity, and joy, while promoting the spirit of synodality within their various ministries and communities.
