St. George’s Parish, Komenda Inducts New Catechists During the Feast of Christ the King
TheFeastOfChristTheKing — As part of the universal Church’s celebration of the Feast of Christ the King, St. George’s Parish, Komenda has officially unveiled and inducted new Catechists to serve in various stations under the parish.
The solemn initiation ceremony was led by Rev. Fr. John Evans Kojo Afful, Parish Priest in the Archdiocese of Cape Coast. He prayed for the newly appointed Catechists, asking God to strengthen them with zeal, commitment, and dedication as they begin their ministry in the Church and in the families they will journey with.
During the ceremony, Fr. John Otoo encouraged the faithful to embrace synodality, emphasizing the need for more labourers in the vineyard of God to support the mission of the Church.
The Parish General Secretary, Mr. Michael Nyame, expressed gratitude to the Parish Priest for taking this bold initiative. He encouraged the youth to seize opportunities within the Church to learn, grow, and prepare themselves as future leaders for God’s work.
Senior Catechist Mr. Cobbinah added that the welfare of Catechists should be considered, acknowledging that their service is a voluntary commitment offered freely to the Church. He called for efforts to support them as they carry out their mission.
The event concluded with the official unveiling and initiation of the new Catechists of St. George’s Parish, Komenda, marking a significant step in strengthening pastoral care within the parish community.
