Over 100 Participate in St. Stephen Feast Celebration at Komenda Besease

             After Mass of Feast Celebration

More than one hundred faithful participated in the Feast of St. Stephen, patron saint of altar servers, organized by the Knights and Ladies of St. George Parish, Komenda, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Komenda Besease.

The celebration featured a blend of spiritual, formative, and recreational activities, including the celebration of the Holy Mass, a catechetical talk on the Church and service, elections, and fun games aimed at promoting unity and leadership among altar servers.

The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. John Tseko Otoo, Chaplain and Parochial Vicar, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Kenyarko. In his homily, Rev. Fr. Joseph Kenyarko reflected on the life and martyrdom of St. Stephen, emphasizing selfless service and fidelity to God. He noted that altar service must be reflected in the personal conduct and lifestyle of those who serve at the altar.

Addressing the gathering, the Church President called on altar servers to remain ever prepared to serve God and the Church with dedication and humility.

As part of the celebration, participants were grouped into three zones—Komenda Zone, Kissi Zone, and Dominase–Abrobiano Zone—to compete in friendly games. At the end of the activities, the Komenda Zone emerged as the overall winner.

In his concluding remarks, Rev. Fr. John Tseko Otoo urged members to uphold unity, love, and obedience to God’s call, reminding them that service at the altar is both a privilege and a lifelong commitment.

The celebration provided an opportunity for spiritual renewal, fellowship, and deeper appreciation of the vocation of altar service within the Church.
