Pilgrims of Hope: A Lenten Recollection Journey towards Synodality

A profound sense of anticipation and spiritual yearning filled the air as participants arrived and completed their registration for our Lenten Recollection: HOPE ‘N OUR HEARTS. The atmosphere was one of quiet reflection and eager expectation, ready to embark on a shared journey of faith and introspection. The day commenced with a beautiful Opening Liturgy led by Ms. Edith Hindoy, setting a tone of reverence and unity, drawing hearts and minds towards the deeper meaning of this sacred season.

The morning unfolded with insightful discourse, beginning with Plenary Session 1. Mr. Abiguel De Paz eloquently guided us through the concept of “Synodality: The Art of Walking Together,” illuminating the importance of communal discernment and collaborative engagement within our Church. His words resonated deeply, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and the beauty of journeying together in faith. Following a refreshing health break, we reconvened for Plenary Session 2, where Mr. Jessie E. Curioso offered a powerful reflection on “Hope in the Wilderness: Finding Christ in the Midst of Challenges.” His poignant insights reminded us that even in our most difficult moments, the presence of Christ offers unwavering hope and strength.

The afternoon provided a valuable opportunity for personal reflection and communal sharing during the Learning Takeaways session, presented by chapel area. This allowed for a more intimate exchange of insights gleaned from the morning's sessions, fostering deeper connections and a richer understanding of the themes explored. It was a time to internalize the messages and consider how they resonated within our individual spiritual journeys.

As the day drew to a close, we gathered for a meaningful Closing Ceremony. Tokens of appreciation and certificates were presented to our esteemed speakers, Mr. De Paz and Mr. Curioso, in recognition of their invaluable contributions to our spiritual enrichment. Finally, certificates were distributed to all participants, a tangible reminder of our shared experience as pilgrims of hope, journeying together towards a Synodal Church. The day concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and a strengthened commitment to walk together in faith, carrying the hope ignited within our hearts.
